Character Information
Indicator / Name:
Part-Timer
Jacquelyn “Jack” [Redacted]
Physical Description:
She stands at 5’3” and does the bare minimum to be professional and presentable at work. She often has her hair tied up in a ponytail and enjoys colour in her professional clothing. Outside of work she has two styles; comfortable and punk/alternative. That is until H.R. expands her wardrobe and does her make-up when spending more time together.
History:
Born in Canada to a critical but loving family. As a child she was obedient and kind, although lacking in school. Once she reached her teen years and began questioning and rebelling she ended up butting heads with both the religious side and the dysfunctional side. Before she reached the age of maturity she was disowned by most of her extended family for being a black sheep (and some she disowned first).
Once she was in her early 20’s she immigrated to the US with a dual citizenship with funding from her father. The purpose had been to try and break into the creative fields she adored but unfortunately had a hard time despite the opportunities being numerous in comparison to back home. In the meantime to keep her father’s funding she had to get a job to prove she was committed.
For awhile she bounced between entry-level jobs before someone in her networking circle informed her of an interview for a job that paid better than her current and past jobs. Thinking it wouldn’t be a bad idea to save more, she decided to give it a shot.
Elevator Experience:
During the first loop, she thought she was going crazy and hallucinating or perhaps dreaming (a nightmare specifically). On the second loop she accepted her fate surprisingly easy (on the basis that freaking out wasn’t going to solve the problem).
Bullet points to be elaborated on.
- If co-worker tries to say she cried she will make a cut throat motion to him (She did but it’s from the pain, shut up-)
- She was convinced co-worker knew and when pushing the issue didn’t work, she gave up (although internally she held it against him)
- Got a little too into the puzzle side of things until it came time to actually face the scary parts, frequently attempted to get coworker to
be the sacrificebe useful - Treated the elevator like a safe room and hated leaving it or the doors opening until she knew which floors were ‘safe’
- Part of why she is aggressive with coworker is because he’s seen too much
- If coworker tried talking while she was thinking he’d get snapped at after the first few polite attempts don’t work (although she notes he was surprisingly quiet most of the time).
Relationships:
Bullet points to be elaborated on.
- H.R. / Monique: Latched onto like a puppy half the time, occasionally has gay panic
- Normal Guy:
fUCK OFFaccidentally develo—does not have a crush on - Protag: Let’s him crash on her couch if they worked late together, forces him to know obscure bullshit that she knows
- Coworker: Has doodled him in many
violentscenarios - Employee: Makes small talk but nothing too in-depth unless prompted™
- Manuel: Confuses and fascinates her
Trivia:
- Stubborn lil shit
- “No, I will not go full-time”
- Part time to avoid full time hours -> catches feelings -> works full time hours -> still refuses full time because that’s what gets attention
- Sporadic hobbies: has played D&D, occasionally does DIY arts (has made a clay Michael Myers), and seen local rock bands, totally doesn’t have an interest in the occult
- Frequently debated quitting and trying to find a job in her interests in some way, shape, or form before getting blindsided by ahem-
- Is quiet and light on feet, scares people around the office by accident several times. Protag is least scared by her, Coworker is jumpscared hourly. (Excluding Normal guy for obvious reasons).
- 100% the one to be chipper and retail voice™ while on the phone before going full bitch face with a curse after hanging up
- Known to say the most unhinged shit randomly while acting like everything is normal
