Character Information
Name:
Birth Name: Kathy [REDACTED]
Alias: Kaho Shigaraki — 加保, "add, protect" (?)
Quirk:
She has the ability to store several quirks within herself. Whatever quirks she’s storing can be duplicated/multiplied, analysed, and if compatible with her body: used.
However, there are several drawbacks depending on the number of quirks stored and what she’s doing with them. Too many quirks/overfilling the storage leads to migraines, duplicating quirks takes up space in the storage and duplicating too many at once leads to temporary brainfog, analysing takes focus and can look like zoning out, her body is too weak/small for majority of quirks to be used, and lastly; she cannot take or give quirks from her storage, without All For One (or a similar quirk) she is functionally quirk-less.
Stored Quirks she can use:
- Life Force: Originally Doctor Garaki’s quirk that allowed him and All For One to possess supernatural longevity in their lifespans.
- Air Walk: This Quirk is capable of allowing the user to levitate and walk in mid-air.
[Unintentionally at first, the quirk mimics my love of organization alongside my struggles with ADHD.]
Family/History:
Born in North America to a religious family as a pastor’s daughter and thought to be quirk-less like the rest of her family (during an era where the quirk population is over half but only (roughly) 60%). The church itself is small, comprised of mainly the older but incredibly loyal generations but despite this, they have a positive opinion of quirks (mainly due to being so loyal and following the teachings).
The small church is connected to a “mega church” run by her father/pastor’s pastor. Said mega church has it’s fingers in less than moral business including those by/related to All For One—who is revered as a gift from God due to his ability to ‘give blessings’ and ‘remove evil’, along with this the holes in his hands are seen as ‘representing a connection to Jesus Christ’ as he uses them to ‘lay hands on sinners and saints’ (aka the church twisting the narrative to be favourable for their needs)—and her father/pastor has connections by extension through this mega church.
The underbelly of the churches are unknown to majority of her father’s congregation including her and her siblings (excluding the oldest). To those unaware, they believe what is taught during sermons about Quirks, that being they are “God’s gift” to mankind and tools to strength his kingdom on earth before the rapture (along with “warnings” about not becoming prideful and thinking you are god because you were given a hint of holy power; after all, quirks are barely a sliver of God’s own power. They were given to help the church, not to boast).
This extends to believing All For One’s introduction with the aforementioned narrative when he visits one day to ‘give blessings’ to the newest generation within the church (a way to extend his influence and in-debt the church to him). As one of the pastor’s children, she in the group to be ‘blessed’ only for All For One to see she was already with a quirk and a useful one.
At first she wondered why she didn’t feel anything different and couldn’t use the quirk he gave her, only to be later pulled aside and told it’s incompatible with her body. At first she was worried no quirk would be compatible before the truth came out: She couldn’t use the quirk but she was storing it and that she’d had a quirk this whole time. A quirk made for him.
With this revelation she learned that All For One and her father spoke and agreed it would be best if she “fulfilled her God ordained purpose” by becoming his apprentice (basically ‘adopting’ her) as her quirk was useless without him (and we know what Quirks are for). Unbeknownst to her, her father was more or less forced into agreeing as partial repayment for her siblings’ quirks.
In Japan she would often do video calls with her family, something that dwindled overtime.
